Description: Orion's Postcards - Pisa, Italy - Ponte di Mezzo (Bridge) This is a photograph of the bridge in Pisa, Italy, prior to its destruction in World War 2.After its reconstruction, the bridge now has a single arch. In this photo it still has 3 arches. The new bridge opened in 1950. I took a good look at this photo, and in the middle of the bridge I do believe the structure thereis a small military installation with an anti aircraft machine gun on top of it. So I would assumethat this photo was taken during WW2, just before its destruction.
