Photograph signed and gifted by Cosmonaut Valery Bykovsky to Neil Armstrong during his visit to the Soviet Union at the Committee of Space Research XIII Conference in 1970. Bykovsky was the fifth cosmonaut in space, at which time he made the first successful outer space communication from his Vostok 5 shuttle to the Vostok 6 shuttle that held the first woman in space, Valentina Tereshkova. PHOTOGRAPH SIGNED AND GIFTED BY THE FIFTH COSMONAUT IN SPACE TO NEIL ARMSTRONG DURING HIS VISIT TO THE SOVIET UNION IN 1970 The color photograph depicts Bykovsky in uniform, measures 5.75” by 4”, in overall fine condition, encapsulated in a Collectibles Authentication Guaranty holder with the header from “The Armstrong Family Collection” (Certification Number: 1000263-001), and accompanied with a signed letter of authenticity from Armstrong’s two sons, Rick and Mark, acknowledging the photograph came from the Armstrong family collection. ENCAPSULATED IN A CAG HOLDER WITH THE HEADER FROM “THE ARMSTRONG FAMILY COLLECTION” AND ACCOMPANIED WITH A SIGNED LETTER OF AUTHENTICITY FROM ARMSTRONG’S SONS Personal items belonging to Armstrong are virtually nonexistent and we were unable to locate any available for sale before 2018. A wonderful association of the space race between the United States and the Soviet Union signed by the fifth cosmonaut in space and owned by the first man to walk on the moon.
