They began issuing them in volumes of 5. Volume I included George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe. Volume VI included William Howard Taft, Woodrow Wilson, Warren G Harding, Calvin Coolidge, and Herbert Hoover. #27 - William Howard Taft: Taft is the only man to be both a US President and a Supreme Court justice.He is known for his efforts to reduce tariffs on imports and created the Department of Labor. He was also the first president to be buried in Arlington National Cemetery. #28 - Woodrow Wilson: Wilson created the Federal Reserve system to manage the nation's money supply. He was the first president to leverage the power of radio by broadcasting periodic press conferences. After Word War I, he created the League of Nations to help settle future conflicts. #29 - Warren G Harding: Harding climbed the ladder in the Republican Party, but due to widespread corruption from members in his administration, Harding's presidency is ranked near the bottom in US history. He was the 6th president to die while in office when he became ill while on a trip in California. #30 - Calvin Coolidge: Known as "Silent Cal", Coolidge was a man of few words. His elected positions included Governor of Massachusetts and Vice President. After leaving office, he worked in the insurance industry and was a trustee for the National Geographic Society. #31 - Herbert Hoover: Just a few months after he took office, the stock market crash of 1929 occurred which hurt his ability to be re-elected for a second term. After leaving office both Presidents Truman and Eisenhower asked Hoover to help with war efforts and to evaluate government efficiency. Use the pull down menu to choose the desired President.
