Perhaps the questions he had spent his life wondering about. The final painting was 5' by 12'. This print shows the right third of the total picture. About the Artist Paul Gauguin's life was one of adventure and hardship. Born in France to a French father and a mother with Peruvian ancestors. Paul spend part of his childhood in Peru, and spent time in the Merchant Marines in his teens. He lived nomadic lifestyle spending time of Panama, Martinique, and Tahiti. He began painting in his early 20's and took up painting full time when he was 35. He was friends with Pissarro and later lived with Van Gogh for a short time. It as after a fight about art Gauguin that Van Gogh's ear was cut off. Although he is now considered to be one of France's greatest artists and father of modern art, he died on Hiva-hoa, a small Polynesian island poor and alone. This print is in Very Good Condition.
