The Park Tool VP-1 includes six assorted self-vulcanizing patches suitable for bicycle tube puncture repair. Tube surface should be lightly sanded before application, and cement allowed to fully dry. Once tube is opened, it is advisable to carry a second tube of cement in case the open tube dries out. Open tubes can be kept fresh longer by applying a doubled piece of plastic wrap over the nozzle before capping. Note: Protective film can prevent patches from stretching inside of the tube. Once patch is adhered, removal of film is recommended. To prevent lifting of the patch, film can be peeled from the inside outward after creating a break in the film by flexing the patch.
