Description: Panoramic Bristol contains 50 impressions, as well as details and decorations, including reproductions of Trevor Haddrell’s breathtaking virtuoso panoramas, measuring up to four and a half feet in length, of the City Centre, the docks, the arching hillside of Cliftonwood, Brandon Hill and the Avon Gorge spanned by Brunel’s suspension bridge. Many of the familiar scenes depicted here will reveal unexpected detail on close examination, and the artist has attempted to view most of the subjects from unusual vantage points, so as to offer new perspectives on the city. Some of the engravings date back to the mid-1990s but most were commissioned especially for this book.Trevor Haddrell is the very popular Bristol based engraver. He became Head of Art & Design in Bristol schools. He has become an elected member of the Society of Wood Engravers. He was Artist in Residence at the Records Office in Bristol in 2005 when he produced his largest engraving, a rooftop view over 8 feet in length. He has now produced well over 100 different views of Bristol and environs.
