It is only visible at narrow apertures and less visible the wider the aperture. No visible decrease in image quality or sharpness. Would not affect normal shooting. See pictures for reference. They were taken with the lens itself. Additionally, the zoom ring is a quite stiff to rotate. It isn't stuck so you can still rotate it. The heaviness of the lens contributes to it.
