Pan American Stereoview Courthouse, Carthage, IL 1906 from Rare Mormon Set #21

Description: This is an excellent Stereo card of the Courthouse in Carthage, Illinois, where the mob that killed Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum was tried. It was made by the Pan American Publishing Co. of Salt Lake City, Utah, USA and has a J. B. King copyright dated 1906. It is from a very rare “Mormon” set featuring sites of great historical significance to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). This set by a Salt Lake City publishing company is even rarer than the similar rare sets issued by Keystone or Underwood & Underwood. This card is titled “Courthouse, Carthage, Illinois, Where Mob Was Tried.” with a position number of 21. This card is in excellent condition and measures 3 1/2" by 7”.
