Description: Pair of carved clamshells with inserts. Believe they were purchased in the 60s, but I do not have details. Both are 'standard' dioramas: the 7 gods (in dark lacquer-washed shell), and fishing village. Dark lacquer-washed item is in good condition. The other one (the village scene) has damage. Damage to shell (upper rear area, as pictured). I stabilized it, and a crafty person could make a fill/paint repair that would not be noticed, It is not noticed when viewing from the front or even upper front. Also note that much of the paint on the scene in the white shell item is worn off, and I think there used to be a boat in the water. Water wheel intact, and spins. Fast shipping; no hassles.
