The vast majority are brass-plated, and they do a nine-job job of this, so I can see people getting confused and calling them solid brass. If there is a question just run a magnet over the surface. These lamps are tested solid brass and along with the craftsmanship they are a stand-alone beautifully designed pair of Stiffel Lamps. They have the flame design at the collar which seems to flow with the rest of design on the the lamp. They measure 24" to the top of the light sockets and 34" to the top of the finial. The base measures 7" in diameter. The lights take a 3-way bulb and are in good working condition.
