Description: Pair Antique 18th Century Porcelain Sauciers Rare! A very special and rare matching set of soft paste porcelain sugar bowls with covers, also known as sucriers. Note: They may also be sauciers, or sauce bowls. Dating from the mid 18th century, circa 1760. The sucriers are molded soft paste porcelain, hand painted in florals, with rococo style double handles. They are unmarked, probably English. They are 7" wide including the handles, by 5" high, by 5 1/2" deep. In overall good condition. There is a crack on one of the lids, and a three-way hairline on the bottom of one bowl. The other bowl has a hairline crack on the top. No other chips or cracks or repairs The gilding is worn and there is a lot of crazing in the glaze when viewed under magnification. Some minor areas of paint loss, and staining. All these, indicative of the age and soft paste porcelain. Please view all photos carefully. They both have lot/sale stickers from Christies auction house Guaranteed to be as described.
