Description: Outrages (Casualties of War), or Victims of Vietnam in Quebec, is an American film directed by Brian De Palma, released in 1989.It is inspired by a real event that occurred in November 1966 in the province of Bình Định (named in English Incident on Hill 192 (en)SynopsisIt's summer, it's scorching hot. On a bus, Eriksson, a young man, stares at a young Asian woman and falls asleep.Bombs are raining in the middle of the jungle, it's night. It's the Vietnam War. Private Eriksson runs. Suddenly the ground collapses beneath his feet. Eriksson is immobilized up to the waist, his legs stuck in a Viet Công gallery. An enemy soldier crawls there, heading straight towards the American, with a knife between his teeth. Sergeant Meserve saves his recruit at the last minute. Shortly after, the team composed of Meserve, Eriksson as well as Corporal Clark, First Class Hatcher and Specialist Brown nicknamed "Brownie", went to an Allied village. While the time is resting, Brownie falls under the bullets of the Vietnamese. Shortly after returning to base camp, Meserve tells his soldiers of Brownie's death, which saddens Eriksson and Hatcher but makes Clark drunk with rage and vengeance. While they were refused permission to go out into town given that the Viet Công were also there, Meserve spoke of obtaining a wife in one way or another.
