Buy-It-Now, or "make a reasonable offer". This unused and rare football sticker-stamp was part of a collection of vintage sports stickers/stamps, most pre-1950 and some from the early 1900's. This colorful vintage football stamp measures approximately 2 1/4" x 1 5/8". Says "The Football Classic of the West - Rugby Game", and announces the rugby combatants as Stanford University vs. Santa Clara University (aka Santa Clara College). This rugby match between the Stanford Indians and the Santa Clara Broncos was played in San Francisco, California at Ewing Field, with the stamp dated Nov. 13, 1915. Ewing Field had opened the prior season. For a number of years, the game of rugby supplanted college football in the State of California, due to deaths on the field in high school and college. This century-plus old and oddball football memorabilia is guaranteed to be vintage...no repro here! <>Condition: in *Fine Shape* overall, showing barely any age/handling faults...nice!!! The centering is simply superb, as you can clearly see the white borders that surround the colored portion! There is no adhesive on the stamp's reverse, but I don't believe the stamp was ever used or adhered to a surface! There are no edge tears or creases present!!
