Description: (LARGE) RARE because it is an ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC patch from one of the US NAVY'S USS NIMITZ (CVN-68)/Carrier Air Wing Eleven (CVW-11) squadrons, the VS-29 'DRAGONFIRES'. This patch was created by them to commemorate their final deployment with the S-3 Viking aircraft. The squadron was a Sea Control and anti-submarine warfare (ASW) squadron of the US Navy that existed between 1960 and 2004. This patch has "no" backing, a "merrowed black" border, has a "fully embroidered" background, does not have velcro on the back, no sew holes, and shows the dimensions in the photos...the ruler on the right is 6".This is from THE BEST NAVAL AVIATION PATCH COLLECTION I've ever seen, and comes from a retired US NAVY CAPTAIN's collection I just acquired, and hope to find this gem a good home.
