Description: This product is an original WWII Japanese Army Officer's Katana Sword in combat mountings. It is a militaria item that was used by the Japanese Army during World War II. The sword is an original piece and has not been reproduced. It is a rare and valuable item for collectors of WWII memorabilia. This is an original WWII Army Officer's Sword. The blade is in War Time original polish, no rust, no stains and in near Mint Condition!! The temper line is in a - RARE wavy gunome mix with suguba temper and has a deep temper at the point! Forging grain is tight, no openings, no bend, no nicks, no crack and cutting edge is very sharp!! The saya (scabbard) is leather covered wood, leather cover shows aged wear but in decent condition. The Tsuka (handle) is tight and in very good condition. It measures: 26 5/8 inches tip to guard. The cutting edge is 25 5/8 inches. The width is 1 3/16", and total length is 37 1/2" in mountings.
