Original World War II Japanese Brass Dog Tag – Unidentified Unit – Estate Fresh!

Description: This auction is for one WWII Japanese brass dog tag. The tag measures approximately 1¾ by 1¼ inches. The tag has impressed or punched Japanese characters on two lines which I believe identify the soldier and his unit. As I cannot read Japanese, I have no idea what the tag says. The tag came from the estate of a United States Marine who served from the mid-1930's through the mid-1950's. Although I do not know where, or under what circumstances, he acquired the tag, I do know that he fought in several battles including Tarawa and Iwo Jima. He also served in occupation duty throughout Asia after the War. The tag is in excellent condition showing only light age.
