Original Watercolor Postcard En Plein Air Stuart Jones ROTHENBURG GERMANY

Description: Up for auction is one of my father's painted postcards from his trips around the world. This one was most likely during one of our painting trips in Germany in the late 1900s. He would do painted postcards on his many trips but not all of them were sent in the mail and he recently gave me a batch of old new stock paintings to sell for him on ebay. This measures 4.5 x 6" and has not been framed nor printed. However he has painted this scene a couple times as he would do in his travels or would do for holiday cards. But there is only one remaining that was never mailed. This features a lovely old road in Rothenburg, Germany. The colors are bright - a little more color than the scan pictured. His style here is somewhat illustrative as he would quickly sketch the scene in front of him in ink and then fill in the colors with watercolor. I have a collection of his postcards and love his whimsical style. Best of luck with your decision and bidding.
