Written in German by Hans Richter, the German painter, graphic artist, avant-garde Dada member, experimental filmmaker and producer. Written on Richter’s printed stationery to Mr. Tetzner, Director of Akademie Remscheid in Germany which offers study and training in the arts: “...I received your letter of October 2nd and have read with great interest your program. Unfortunately, I cannot meet your wishes to give you a copy of “Dreams That Money Can Buy”. I have a rental contract, which forbids me to provide copies to private individuals or institutions. I am very sorry not to be able to help your interesting institute..” Signed in full in blue ink by Richter. With the original envelope hand-addressed by Richter signed again by him in the return address. With creases from folding, else fine. Richter’s 1947 color feature length film, Dreams That Money Can Buy included such collaborators as Max Ernst, Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, Alexander Calder, Darius Milhaud, Paul Bowles, Fernand Leger, John Cage, and Libby Holman.
