Measures 70mm 2-3/4". 90ยบ pinback design. Unusual set of sterling silver wings in high polish front and matte finish reverse. Marked STERLING and with the NS Meyer hallmark. While they follow the regulation of the Type II Naval Observer wings as being a silver version of the gold Naval Aviator wings, that regulation was from 1927-1929. These are enlisted Naval Aviation Pilot(NAP) (also known as Silver Eagles) wings, which were used from WWII through the 1960s when the last enlisted pilot flew for the US Navy.
