Description: A collection of Pre-World War II paper inserts from the Family Circle magazine. Starting with January 10, 1941 and ending with December 26, 1941. I think every issue is included, it looks like the magazine was published weekly. Each insert is a single sheet of 7 3/4" by 10" folded in half to make four pages of recipes, tips and other information. Since the Pearl Harbor attack was not foreseen as coming in December, life seems to be comfortable and normal, there are glimpses like "meatless meals" . "For the Boys at Camp" the August 8th has treats to send to "soldiers stationed throughout the country." By September 12 there is a sheet of fund raising ideas for "War Relief and Other Charities." An interesting look into the lifestyle of the 1940's along with some politically incorrect images. Some really terrible sounding recipes amidst those that have stood the test of time. Learn how to serve your meal with and without the help of a maid. Entertaining tips including menu ideas. Roast a turkey by covering it with dough. Lots of creamed things and ring molds. "Refrigerator cakes." Canning and pickling, radish roses, "grape catsup", "Flaked Tuna and Peanut Butter Sandwiches." "Sausage Plum Pudding." and even more delights! The inserts are original and in remarkable condition. Age tanning of the paper but no stains, writing or damage. They have been stored in a non smoking household. Thanks for looking and Happy eBaying!
