Description: Original antique color lithographed 1892 map of India, printed more than 130 years ago. It has excellent detail, including cities, towns, finished and unfinished railroads, telegraph lines, and natural features. It locates the Deccan Plateau, making up most of the southern part of the country, and it labels Rajpootana (Rajasthan), north of Gondwana and the Baroda Dominion. The legend key identifies presidencies and princely states. The image area measures 29 x 25 cm [11½" x 9¾"]. An inset shows the eastern part of India, including the Andaman Islands and present-day Myanmar (Burma). The map was engraved by Fisk & Co. and published in 1892 by Hunt & Eaton, New York. Condition: This map is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears. There is a horizontal fold, as issued, and the map is blank on the back, with no printing on the reverse side. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. It is an original, authentic antique map, not a reproduction or modern reprint, and it is fully guaranteed to be genuine. This map would make a very handsome display in your den or office.
