ARTIST INFO:OPUS III BIO/INFO- Opus III is a British electronic music group that achieved success on the UK singles chart and the US dance chart. The group consisted of vocalist Kirsty Hawkshaw and producers and musicians Kevin Dodds, Ian Munro and Nigel Walton. The group's members promoted strong environmental and feminist messages through lyrics, album liner notes, and photo and video images. Their biggest hit was "It's a Fine Day", which reached number 5 in the UK in February 1992. The song had been previously recorded by singer Jane in 1983, and the lyrics were taken from a song by poet Edward Burton. Prior to forming Opus III, Dodds, Munro, and Walton were signed to Capitol Records UK under the name A.S.K. The band released their first single, "Kiss and Tell" in 1988. The trio then signed to MCA Records UK and released their next single, ``Dream'', in 1990, which peaked at number 85 on the UK Singles Chart. The group then released their third single, "Freedom We Cry", in 1991.
