Most lanterns like this, both then AND now are battery operated. I purchased this with a flicker/dancing flame bulb inside, buyer will receive this. Lever at side pushes up the glass and you can change the bulb. Please see all pics. Nice warmth effect. This is made of a medium/lightweight metal of some kind ( does not bend) and the hurricane is glass. On/Off switch on the cord. Measures approx; 12" high ( not including the 6.6" height of handle) x 7" at handles widest points. Real nice decoration for Christmas; your fireplace, a cute cozy corner, a covered porch, near your Christmas tree, etc. Imagination is endless, can be used year round.
