Description: The turquoise stone in this ring harkens back to the days when Nevada was known for its liberal divorce laws as much or more than for its casinos. There have been several turquoise mines called “Blue Gem” in Nevada and a lot of romance surrounding them. This ring belonged to a family member from Reno and dates from the 1970s or before and while the turquoise is not the watery blue that made the Blue Gem mine legendary, it is really nice as is the workmanship on the feather. PLUS, the ring is flattering to shorter, thicker fingers (as are mine!) making them look longer and more slender. My measuring device is rather primitive but the ring is approximately a size 7. I’m listing Southwestern items that mostly date from the 1970s. They range from jewelry to Navajo rugs and all have been collected by me or members of my family. Please keep checking back and thanks for looking.
