Description: Lovely 2-piece matching carafe and glass set, handblown by master glassblower, Ferenc Albert (IGMA Fellow). In the style of Old English Hobnail, the little glass is designed to fit over the carafe, until ready to serve. As separate pieces, the glass cup measures 5/16" (on its own) and the carafe 1/2" tall. Together, the "cup over glass" standing unit is 1/2" high. An exquisite set for bedside, office, library -- anywhere you would keep a glass of water or pour of wine. Ferenc Albert (originally from Hungary) has been doing miniature glass work since 1975. Over the course of nearly 50 years, he has collaborated with fellow artisans to produce outstanding glasswork for their chandeliers, fine sterling silver pieces, & more. In his early 90s now, Mr. Albert is an inspiration. There is limited availability of his collectible vintage pieces. This is a particularly rare piece, & an excellent replica of his ability to match antique glass patterns in miniature form. Am downsizing my collection, and take comfort finding new homes where they will be enjoyed as much:)
