However, we feel the fine cabinetry is clearly the focal point of all vintage Art Deco radios. Throughout our restoration process we are conscience of preserving the natural wood elements and that the design features remain intact. The cabinet goes through an extensive revitalization process to preserve and retain the craftsmanship of these uniquely designed American pieces. Using a multi-step sanding process, we carefully remove, by hand, all of the old layers of stain and/or other unnatural elements that have encased the precious cabinets, as well all repairs that are needed. Once the cabinet reaches the bare wood stage a custom blend of modern day stains and toners are used to bring back and highlight the natural wood grains. The cabinet is then treated to a series of high-gloss, clear coat lacquer applications. The action of wet sanding between each clear coat application is applied along with a final hand-glazing to ensure a mirror like luster & shine to the cabinet. We strive to bring these cabinets back to life looking the way we feel they should have or could have looked. By using modern day stains and toner color options that did not exist in the past enables us to brighten and highlight the wood grains like never before! This results in making these radio cabinets look better than they ever did! We also feel these cabinets deserve a replacement from an audio aspect as well. By adding a modern day Bluetooth stereo speaker breathes new life into these unique pieces. We do not feel this compromise's the piece but rather enhances the experience as a whole, both from a visual and audio perspective. The antique cabinets are then lined with the highest grade of black felt, leaving the roof of the cabinet in its natural wood stage, creating the prefect sound environment! With the addition of a high technology 20-40 watt DUAL SIDED Bluetooth stereo speaker, along with moving it back approximately 2 to 3 inches from the now CLEAR GRILLE & WIDE OPEN BACK, allows for a maximum dual sided sound enhanced cabinet performance that can not be topped!
