Description: This is a real deal factory Ford Holley 4 barrel carburetor for a 1971 Mustang/Cougar/Torino with the 428 Super Cobra Jet engine backed by a 4 speed manual trans. The numbers stamped into the choke tower are as follows: D1ZF-9510-YA List 6127 081. The D1ZF-9510-YA is the Ford part number. The list 6127 is the Holley part number. The 081 is the date code. The date decodes as the1st week of August 1970. That's right, this is a real deal production line dated 1971 429 Super Cobra Jet 4 speed carb. Talk about a hard to find unit! This carb is in good original condition overall. The carb is appears complete and all parts move. The front metering block is stamped 6382 and the rear is stamped 5671. The front bowl has the correct inlet on the driver's side with the transfer tube on the passenger side. That said, I think the bowl may be a replacement since the float sight plug is on the driver's side. I removed the bowls and metering blocks to show the internals are clean and complete. The base looks to be original and the butterflies open and close smoothly. The base has been notched in 4 places inboard of the carb stud holes to make the carb mount with a different bolt pattern? The choke is intact and is the manual cable style. I believe it is supposed to be a hot air style. This is a very hard to find 429 Super Cobra Jet 4 speed carb. I priced this carb well below market to allow the buyer to correct the front bowl, base, and choke if they choose. I will look for the correct parts and will correct the carb and relist when if find them. This carb has been in storage for decades and will need rebuilding/restoration before it can be used. These factory high performance carbs have become nearly impossible to find, especially in this unrestored condition. There is no question this carb is a real deal original part, that is not something you can say about a lot of the restored units that are out there today.
