This species can grow in very wet areas, and is often found growing in swamps and river bottoms in it’s native environment, but they will also grow well in drier, normal garden conditions. These plants get wonderful fall foliage in shades of red to orange. They are hardy to at least USDA zone 5, and possibly colder.
