This is one of the very early collectible pen sets I ever bought, and my plan was to use it. I inked the fountain pen and for a few weeks it lay in my desk drawer. All I ever did was to sign my name a couple of dozen times. I then decided this pen was just too gorgeous to be used, so I rinsed it and put it away. It has stayed unused for over 25 years. The ballpoint never even came out of its box until just now. It will need a new refill if you plan to use it, but this pen set is really a collector item, to be preserved in all its beauty. Both the pens had become stuck to the vinyl material of the box, and I had to pull them out, which ripped the surface of the box. No damage to the pens, of course. Otherwise, everything is flawless.* * * * * I am selling my entire pen collection that I had built up over many years. I already sold some 350+ pens, and these are the last of my collection. I bought most of these brand new and some used. All of these went into a display case and have stayed there until now. It is possible that even new pens might have been dipped in ink before they were sent to me, or show signs of handling or minor surface scratches. When I received my fountain pens, if I ever happened to see any ink, I always rinsed them clean. I have not inked or used any of these pens. The ballpoint and rollerball pens will likely need new refills - I make no warranty that they will write smoothly, if at all. Otherwise, all the items are as described. These are fantastic works of art, but my kids have no interest in my pens, so I am now selling them as I'm getting older. * * * * * My asking price is consistent with what I have seen others asking for these pens.
