Description: Nos Poilus First Edition 1920 by Emile Hinzelin, Illustrated by G. Dutriac. "Nos Poilus" translates in Google to "our furry". Luckily, I took one semester of French which allows me to look a little deeper into this...in the modern context, "our furry" is simply weird. However, it really means "our soldiers who are unshaven", i.e. the rough, hardy French infantrymen of world War one. Pretty fun. I'm not even a collector of this genre but really like this book for its uniqueness-in-a-common-topic (world war one). Front hinge cracked, back hinge weak. Structurally better than it looks; binding still good and fairly tight, pages very clean with some light browning to edges. Cover illustration in great shape with some minor cosmetic wear (a few scratches, one fair chip to top right edge). Spine frayed at top and bottom. Let me know if you have any questions if you desire more photos. Thank you.
