Description: WANT IT NOW? WHY WAIT?? BUY IT NOW!!! LIMITED TIME SPECIAL!! NEW LOW PRICE WAS $24.99 NOW ONLY $17.99 THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN MY AUCTION THIS AUCTION IS FOR 100 YEAR OLD NORITAKE CO. JAPAN "JUANITA" PATTERN COVERED SUGAR BOWL w/ LID ART DECO STYLE A wise woman once said, "A complete service for 12 should always have 13-14 of each piece. You never know!" and "You can never be too rich, too thin, or have too much Noritake....." Since 1904, Noritake has been bringing beauty and quality to dining tables around the world. Superior artistry and craftsmanship, attention to detail and uncompromising commitment to quality have made Noritake an international trademark during this past century. Noritake Co., Limited, commonly known as "Noritake," grew out of a trading company established in Tokyo and in New York City by the Morimura Brothers in 1876. This forerunner of the modern Noritake Company was founded in the village of Noritake, a small suburb near Nagoya, Japan. After various mergers the company now comes under the umbrella of the Nippon Toki Kaisha, Ltd. THE MARK OF QUALITY!! "MURIMURA MARK"RED This fine china was part of an inventory removed from the estate of an avid antique china collector after she died and the owners sold the home. This rare and very lovely china is about 100 years old. Most of the company’s early wares carried one of the various “Nippon” back stamps to indicate its country of origin when exported to Western markets. After the "Nippon" era there are three commonly seen Noritake marks, namely the Noritake Maruki (often called Komaru) Mark, the M (for Morimura) Wreath Mark (1911) and the RC (for Royal Crockery) post WW II mark. The marks came in four colors, green, blue, magenta (red), gold and were stamped with “Japan” or “Made in Japan.” The green and blue were the most common marks, with magenta and gold being rarer. This auction is for a very hard to find piece of Noritake china. The pattern on this piece is called "JUANITA". The bottom is marked with the magenta Noritake "M" Morimura wreath mark (1911), MADE IN JAPAN, JUANITA, U.S. DESIGN, PATENTED 76834. LIKE NEW!! This is part of the Hostess serving pieces, usually referred to as a "SUGAR" or "SUGAR BOWL". When evaluating dinnerware china, always remember, for every 12 plates, cups and bowls etc., only ONE serving piece per kind, was made for each set. That is what makes these particularly hard to find and expensive. Sugar bowls are used for serving sugar and sweeteners. They are used to pass around the table as coffee or tea is served at meals. More formal sugars have lids to keep "unwanted visitors" out and for decorative effect. Condition: This piece of vintage china is about 100 years old. A miracle it survived this long. I see no apparent blemishes. If you collect NORITAKE JUANITA...you might want to place me in your "FAVORITES" list for the next few months to keep track of these auctions. I have just begun to list similar pieces from a collector's hoard of early 1900's Noritake China. I will be listing new pieces weekly in the coming months. Now..if YOU have any other information or data on this piece and would like to share it, I'd be more than willing to pass it on to any possible NEW OWNER. Please feel free to contact me. Mechanical device disclaimer: Every mechanical device has a certain life span. The day it leaves the factory, it becomes one day closer to its end date. When I find these devices, I plug them in, wind them up or put in a battery. If they buzz, whirr or seem like they're doing what they are supposed to be doing, I keep them for auction. At that point in time, I have NO IDEA of how old or how much use they have incurred. They may last a lifetime or fail the next time they are turned on. Therefore, I sell these as "Decorative or Ornamental purposes" only, not functional. Which may be referred to as "AS IS". Note: On some items, UPC symbols may have been removed for rebate purposes.
