Description: Nitto Boeing 727-200 JAL 1/100 Scale Model (Kit 150-500) 1969 RARE Early issue from the Nitto Kagaku Kyozai Co.World Passenger Airplane Series No. 7. Open Box / Partially Sealed Contents / Unassembled All parts included along with original assembly instructions and decals. This vintage, 55-year-old, large 1/100 scale model measures 18 inches long when assembled. Includes a display stand and a very large & colorful decal sheets. Most parts are still on their sprues; loose parts are bagged for shipping. Box is in great condition other than an unfortunate tear in the center of the box top. There is some legacy black paint on the inside of the fuselage and on some of the small tire parts; also some legacy gray paint on the edges of the engine intakes (I believe the paint color/location would match final design intent, so other than needing touchups, not a fatal issue). Pictures show details of items included, condition of parts, and box condition. Box Side Panel Text: "It was sometime in February 1959 when jet aircraft development for short haul services was planned. However, more concrete work on 727 resumed in June 1959 after a series of prior research. The original aircraft then was a size smaller which later increased to the present dimensions., reflecting the view of major U.S. Airline companies. On February 9th, 1963, the first prototype was put on test flight and awarded with FAA Flight Time certificate in December 24th. With the advent of volume passenger transportation age, the standard model 727-100 had its fuselage lengthened by 3 meters each in front and back of the main wing. This standard model is also provided with emergency exit right before the engine. The long fuselage model 727-100 was completed and flight tested on July 27, 1967. This model is a total length of 46.7 meters, total width 32.9 meters, total height 10.4 meters and maximum passenger accommodation 132 persons. There is practically no difference between the models 200 and 100 except for longer fuselage and increased accommodation capacity. The highlight of 727 features is short take off-landing range requirements which capacitates even small local airstrips for this jet aircraft service. The other popular models now in service are 727-100C, 727-100QC and 727-100M. Their production has already exceeded 1000 quantities."
