It is the european model so it did not come with factory sealed but rest assured, it is still new. I have not removed it out of the console. Although this is european version, the Game Boy Color is not region locked, which means that you can play software purchased in any region on any Game Boy Color hardware. It comes with a free custom box protector with the console for display purposes. Note: I know the box comes with batteries in a sealed clear packaging inside, as all gameboy color consoles did, but those batteries most likely need to be replaced due to age.
