Description: New & Unsmoked Ser Jacopo Picta Picasso 01 L2 Natural Smooth Bent Bulldog Silver Band This is a new and unsmoked pipe from the Picta series celebrating the art of Pablo Picasso. This is the largest (28 shapes) of the four Picta Collections which Giancarlo created in his lifetime. With the introduction of several distinct Picta assortments, Giancarlo stamped them with the series name as well as the number. I'm sure this helped helped a lot of folks because the Pictas number 77 unique shapes over the four series! In other words, this pipe has "PICTA PICASSO 01" stamped on its shank. This piece rare because it is an L2 in the smooth natural finish, which is the highest grade in the standard Ser Jacopo range and it has a shank made from Ivoroid. As such, there are few L2 pipes and even fewer Picta Picasso pipes in the 27 shape.. This piece, number 01 from the Picasso Picta collection is a bent Bulldog with strong flame grain. The pipe has a "beefy" shank which sports an equally "beefy" silver which is made to look like two bands which are side by side. The shank at the band meets the start of the wide handcut saddle stem. The underside and two side panels of the shank have the pipe's nomenclature. The tobacco chamber has been left natural thus giving a nice view of its insides. Over the years we have sold many of the Picta pipes, but the L2 has always been very limited in number. The pipe will come with a Picta booklet on one of the four Picta series. In Ser Jacopo's grading of smooth pipes, there's Rosso Inglese, L1, L2 and then into the Gem Series. The pipe pictured is the pipe you will receive.Purchase is for the pipe only, no box and no sleeve.The stem of this pipe is handmade from Lucite / acrylic / plexiglas and will not tarnish.The pipe will be packed with the stem separated from the bowl for safety and shipped insured.This pipe DOES NOT use a filter.
