Description: From H20 Guitar pickups. This is my 5/2 Set for strat. It has a vintage wind, all hand wound and assembled with Alnico 5 magnets on the bottom 3 strings and Alnico 2 magnets on the top 3. This set gives you sparkle and chime and quack and that familiar hollow plucky sound you only hear on the best early hand wound pickups, I love A2 for solos and good ol rock and roll. This set has been requested by a lot of builders. We have decided to not offer any custom specs on any of our pickups. I am sure there are other winders out there who would be glad to do any custom specs you wish for. We are focusing on A Pure Vintage line of pickups. We feel that overwinding, making pickups that are overly hot etc... Just does not give the player any room for tone at that point. I have always believed that you can get more tonally out of a standard vintage wind or even a low wind than you can with a hot wind. With a vintage wind the tonal palate is more dynamic and full, making the use of pedals or anything else much better. We are 1 week out on orders. Making this change will only improve our lead times because we won't have to do any special orders, parts etc... We will focus on what we do best, make great pickups that cover a lot of tonal territory. Hand assembled, lacquer dipped for durability and no wire shorting to the poles and lightly wax potted for a lifetime of trouble-free use. This set works very well with Drive pedals, a very harmonically rich set. They come with surgical tubing springs and screws. This set is great with pedals and overdrive as well as they clean up very nicely, they have a very sweet tone, note bloom and sparkle.
