Description: Early twentieth century impressionist painting of one of New Orleans' famous courtyard subjects, 9 1/4" by 7" as framed, signed at lower right corner "Don Juan". While an interesting name to be sure, I have not been able to find a listed artist corresponding to it. The work though is by an obviously trained and talented hand. The vintage frame makes all in all for a very satisfying little painting sure to please the New Orleans fan. The surface is soiled evenly, consistent with age. Likely dates to the 1920's or 1930's, judging from frame and materials and general soiling. A simple cleaning would definitely brighten this up. For that small wall, a perfect addition.
