Description: Description Gibson / 1950s J-45 Original Ebony [Original Collection] [S/N 21234028] 50s J-45 with pickup The J-45 is a round-shoulder acoustic guitar that was born in 1942 as a successor to the J-35. This model has been loved by many musicians and guitarists to this day, and is nicknamed "The Workhorse." It was named this because it was sold for $45 at the time. The original J-45 reigned as the representative of round shoulders for 28 years after its birth. However, in 1970, it underwent a transformation and was transformed into a square shoulder and long scale. Production ended in 1982, but it was revived in 1984 as the long-awaited "round shoulder and 24-3/4 inch scale". This is a new model announced at the 2020 NAMM SHOW! Made in Montana, USA. This model inherits the hidden popularity of the 1950s series and is equipped with a large pickguard. The body is all solid wood, with a Sitka spruce top and mahogany sides/back, the standard J-45 specs. It has scalloped X-bracing and a single-ring rosette. It has a straight saddle and a Gibson-scale mahogany neck with a sturdy round profile. The pegs are triple Kluson type, the pickup is an L.R.Baggs VTC, and the volume/tone can be controlled at the edge of the sound hole. The nitrocellulose lacquer finish (gloss) and the dovetail neck joint with glue are familiar specifications. The standard J-45 sound that shows why it is called a classic instrument of the past!
