Possible irregularities include, but are not limited to, stains, marks, scuffs, bent metal hooks, bad size tags, loose stitching, dimension of corset might be off by 1-2" inches in length, hip and rib spring, loose grommets or sewing over the grommet (makes it hard to buckle) that occasionally occur during the manufacturing or delivery process. Some may be linty. I buy these directly from a company that has very high standards on their corsets and most the time I can't tell what the irregularities are because they are just not that noticeable. This corset is made for tight-lacing and waist-cinching, and sizing is based on the corset completely laced shut. We recommend that you order 5-7 inches below your natural waist measurements to allow for cinching. Plus sizes (waists of 38" or more) should order 7-10 inches down. So if you have a 29 inch waist, we would recommend that you purchase a size 24. A size 24 will have a 24" waist when fully laced shut. The bottom edge will measure aobut 8-9 inches larger than the waist, and the underbust is about 4-5 inches larger when laced shut.
