The band was originally formed by former members of Nervosa and Burning Witches, and made their album debut in 2021 with Echoes of the Soul. Unlike their former bands, they played a very old-school death metal sound that was full of sludgy sounds, and stunned fans all over the world. Now, they are releasing their long-awaited new album. In this work, titled [Shades of Sorrow], Brazilian guitarist Jessica Falchi has joined the band in place of Sonia, a former member of Burning Witches, who had left the band. All members of Crypta are Brazilian. (Sonia is Dutch.) This work, a quasi-concept album with the theme of "fighting the pain that we sometimes have to experience in life," is a blast of eerie, dark, and emotional death metal.
