Description: Moth measures approximately 5 1/2 inches wide at its wings and is approximately 1 1/8 inches tall including base.The moth or butterfly appears to be made of of some type of stone, possibly jade or nephrite.The insect’s six feet fit into small indents on the beautifully carved wooden base.No maker’s marks are evident, but based upon its quality and our research, we believe the piece was originally handcrafted in China, possibly during the late Qing era (1890’s through 1910 estimated).This piece may have been meant to have been displayed as is and / or the stone panel worn as a pendant.Surface wear as seen in pictures.The rear right leg of the insect is broken, but the piece still displays beautifully.Item will be carefully packaged and double boxed to ensure safe arrival to its new home.Please Note: Due to Ebay's policies regarding the value of this piece and to better ensure a positive experience for both buyer and seller, signature confirmation will be required for delivery.
