Description: LONG WAVE UV Nepheline Syenite specimen with fluorescent orange Sodalite "Yooperlite". This is a piece from a large 2 ton boulder that weathered out of the bluffs along the shoreline in Ozaukee county. It shows interesting zoneed sections of densly packed dark Amphibole minerals grading to more of the lighter colored minerals of Nepheline and Feldspar. Fluoresces under long wave UV light. I collected this from the Lake Michigan Shoreline, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin. 59 grams. 2-1/2" length. I do combine shipping! NOTE!I use a ConvoyS2 LONG WAVE 365nm UV flashlight with a band pass filter installed for finding these and the photos, you will need one as well to see the fluorescence as nicely as seen in photos.
