Description: My late husband and I attended a Navajo rug auction at Crown Point School in New Mexico in the 1990s. It's an auction where weavers would come with their rugs and sit in the same crowd as the buyers. Weavers got direct payment for their rugs. We bought a few rugs and my husband found this 12.5" tall tree (9.5" wide) in a hallway where people were selling other things. It is signed Chavez and has nice detail on the little sun face kachinas. One of them came loose from the branch and will need a spot of glue. I will send it loose as it's going to be hard to wrap anyway.
