Description: This beautiful Native hand-woven backpack is in excellent condition. It is a “Borneo” type (I say “type” because I do not know how to verify if it is, in fact, a Borneo.) This basket was purchased in Malaysia several years ago and given to me as a gift. I listed it as "new" because I never used it. It measures approximately 12 inches high with a circumference of 24 inches. It has a long handle made of bark which allows the basket to be slung over the shoulder, carried by hand or gives you the ability to wear the strap on the forehead and use it to forage for food, fishing, in the forests—a storage like a basket for all uses. It is lightweight and can be used for décor or light foraging. I’m not sure exactly what the material is—some type of reed/rattan/grass.
