Description: Native American Indian Vintage Replica Artifact Woodland Period Stone Celt 2lb From our Fraunze Muller Artifact Collection, we have a Vintage Replica Stone Celt. Based on our brief online study of stone celts, this one seems to resemble similar artifacts that are from the woodland period. Rough measurements are as follows: 6 inches in Length, 3 1/2 inches in Width, and 1 inch Thick. Weight: 2 pounds and 1.5 ounces. See our many high resolution photos for details of the condition. ABOUT THESE VINTAGE REPLICA ARTIFACTS: This artifact is one of eighteen different VINTAGE REPLICA artifacts that I currently have for sale on eBay from The Fraunze Muller Collection. According to the opinion of a few expert artifact collectors, these replicas are nicely made, would be great for a display of some kind, and were most likely made in the 1960's, 1970's, or early 1980's. Only upon closer inspection with a trained eye, can one tell that these are replicas, so from about any distance other than really close with a lot of light (like my pictures), and a trained eye, can one know for sure that they are not authentic. These would even be great for museum displays where it is not ideal or in the budget to display original ancient ones. I acquired these artifacts from Kevin Wayne Gibson on 6-23-2018. Kevin, the grandson of Fraunze Muller, originally acquired these as an inheritance from his Grandfather's estate. Kevin nor I, was aware that these were very well done vintage replicas rather than authentic ancient artifacts until after I originally listed these and was given help by eBay's expert collectors. I have re-priced these according to their value as replicas, not as actual artifacts, which would be a LOT more expensive. I won't get my investment back for sure, but I will absolutely sleep better selling them as replicas, now that I know that they are. I have been told that many artifacts for sale as authentic artifacts, especially the more valuable ones like birdstones, banner stones, axe heads, etc., tend to be replicas and that not all certificates of authenticity can be trusted. So if you are shopping for authentic ancient ones, do your homework. I wish I had. I had originally (back in 2018) sought an archaeologist to further authenticate these artifacts via a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), but he was only able to give me some clues as to the nature and identification of the types of artifacts, but he did not mention or even suspect that these might be replicas rather than the real deal. The expert collectors told me that this was not uncommon because most archaeologists are not really trained to spot replicas. They are accustomed to pulling things out of the ground, assuming authenticity, and studying them in other ways. ETHICAL CONCERNS: Please do not purchase these items with the intent to resell them as original ancient artifacts. They are excellent replicas, but should not be sold as originals. I ask that buyers agree to this ethical requirement as a condition of the sale. Please honor this.
