The Art Director for this publication was Joe Simon who was himself a talented comicbook artist. His influence can be seen in the comic style lettering on the front cover which was unusual for the true crime genre at this time. Kirby and Simon were the co-creators of Captain America who made his first appearance in December 1940 just a few months prior to the release of this issue.
