Description: Nakamichi TA-2A amp from 1989, in overall good shape (the dust is from the towel I cleaned it with) but missing every knob for some reason. Don't know why. It does work, it plays the music and sounds great when it does, but there are a few issues. Mainly, there's a problem with the tone control button. It doesn't stay pressed, and as you move it through its range it crackles and one speaker gets stronger than the other. It normally has the left speaker stronger but as you push the button there's a spot where the right is stronger, as well as both quiet and both normal volume. Could need a new button, or Deoxit, don't know. Really strange issue, but it is a 40 year old amplifier. I think fixing that switch would solve the channel imbalance, or at least make it easier to track down which part is sad. Also, the balance adjuster (behind the volume knob) does the same but that one can be fixed with Deoxit. If you have a broken one with good knobs, or if you don't want anybody ruining your carefully adjusted settings, this is the unit for you. It's the cheapest on eBay as I write this, and even checking the parts units that sold it's still the cheapest with an explanation of what is wrong instead of just letting you roll the dice.
