Description: DATED 1870 MARINERS COMPASS ANTIQUE QUILT This dated and initialed 1870 antique quilt is fabulous. The initials are LR and we have another by the same family we have listed as well - it is dated 1865 initialed FR. The size is 88" by 70". The quilt is HAND PIECED and HAND QUILTED at 8 to 10 tiny stitches per inch. There is just a bit of fabric damage very small snags as shown. Very light edge wear to the binding. There was a sleeve sewn on the back for display. There is patena overall from storage and age on this 148 year old quilt. MUSEUM QUALITY! We sell only clean American made antique quilts!
