Description: MUSCULAR DEVELOPMENT by Earle E. Liederman This pamphlet was self-published by the author in New York. Undated pamphlet, but other sources indicate publication was in 1927. Dates referenced in the publication itself include 1922 but no later, indicating publication likely between 1923 and 1927. Softcover paper pamphlet has 64 pages, approximate 40 full-page black-and-white photographs, descriptions of his bodybuilding self-improvement program and device, and testimonials. Liederman became vastly famous and successful as one the the first "Mail Order Muscle Barons." The striking photographs in this book depict Liederman himself as well as some of his students. Liederman's glowing descriptions of his exercise program and training device, for $28 inclusive with money-back guarantee, are entertaining and interesting. He even promises development of a "good personality" and includes phrases such as: "What is $28 Compared to a Good personality?" The booklet also provides many glowing testimonials from students age 11 to 89 years of age. MUSCULAR DEVELOPMENT has been reprinted in recent years, but this original publication by the author is not widely available. Although there is minor wear and some light staining of pages, the pamphlet is in generally good condition - particularly considering its age of over 85 years - which makes the generally good condition of this paper pamphlet seem remarkable.
