Description: For auction is a lovely piece of art glass that was made in Italy to look just like The Mount Washington Glass Company of New Bedford, Ma. "Sack" vase. The item is a Burmese style of art glass vase decorated with rigaree. It is a good size as it stands 5 1/2" tall and the body is 4 5/8" in diameter at the rim. The bulge at the belly of the vase is approximately the same width as the flared out rim. The vase displays a bulbous vase cinched together with the rigaree ribbon decoration. The ribbon appears to be fastened with a berry style prunts and has long trailing ends to the bow. The vase then flares out at the top scalloped rim which seems to form in the simulated fabric bunched together below the rigaree. The color of the main body of the vessel is a medium salmon pink at the top that gradually fades to a pale yellow at the bottom. The rigaree ribbon is primarily yellow with some light pink accents and the berry prunt is a pale pink to complete the look. The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks or dings. The vase is unsigned but has a nice pontil that is mostly finished. This vase was made circa 1970's.
