Lid pulls out and pushes in, and is tightly secured by 8 prongs. Circa: 1875. DIMENSIONS: 2.75”H x 2.75”W. WT=0.15 lbs. CONDITION: Excellent. No missing pieces, chips, hairlines, or repairs. WASHINGTON: The glass making company opened in 1837, in the Mount Washington area of South Boston, Massachusetts and produced utilitarian glasswares until 1870 — the same year factory owner, William Libbey, moved the entire operation to New Bedford, MA. There, Mount Washington Glass Works operated from 1870 until 1894 producing, perhaps, the most diverse and beautiful assortment of American art glass of the Victorian era.
